A Beautiful Affair (ABS-CBN): Kabanata/Episode 11

Kabanata 11

--Leon

Episode 11
Leon ang Fred returns to the country after three months. Witnessing the reunion of his friend and his loved ones, Leon feels that it is about time for him to fix his own life, which leads him to the decision to travel to Agusan to find the truth regarding his past. His father Emong (John Arcilla), on the other hand, could not hide his euphoria in finally seeing his son come home. In those three months prior to coming back, Leon and Gen have lost touch of each other. After going through extreme depression and the feeling of being abandoned, she is now ready to face the word and fight to fulfil her last promise to her father. With Edward’s aid and guidance, she resists selling Ropa, a decision that her Aunt Sabrina does not welcome with open arms. Together with her son Harry, they seem to be hiding some anomaly that they are keen to keep under wraps no matter what.

It looks like a war is brewing especially now that Gen is up and ready to fight. It is amusing to see a heroine that is not bound by either stupidity or blind obedience and is ready to go heads-on with anyone who dares block her way, even if that someone happens to be part of the family or some influential individual. Hopefully, this demeanor gets to continue because it is becoming tiresome to watch women with no other purpose than being the aggrieved party. The scenes shot in Austria come to an end, but I am still thankful that they lasted for ten episodes and the viewers have been given a chance to witness not just the beauty of the said country, but also the scenes shot there that would be hard to forget because of how they were able to lend a different meaning to the mentioned places. Now that the characters are in the Philippines, it is expected that the flow of the story would speed up, and here is to hoping that this would not go through what other soaps before it had to by starting good, losing track, and eventually falling apart.
