A Beautiful Affair (ABS-CBN): Kabanata/Episode 13

Kabanata 13

“You can always make a new home, Gen. Gawin mo ang dapat at ang gusto mong gawin. Don’t let this stop you from leaving your life” –Edward

Episode 13
While Leon is busy chasing his past in Agusan, Edward is also busy taking care of Gen while she, on the other hand, is busy running everything her father has left behind. Now that she has finally spoken with an ex-employee who has confessed everything that she knows, the shady dealings in which her aunt is involved and which has caused them problems are finally confirmed. In her times of doubt, Edward is always there to lend her a hand. It is also evident how his mind seems to be absent from his meetings, in which instead of listening to the presentations of his people, he imagines a provocative Gen seducing him while dressed in a sexy red dress. After visiting her in the office and bringing a chef to prepare their lunch, reserving an entire cinema which he owns anyway so the two of them could watch a movie alone, and introducing her to his younger sister Ava (Megan Young), he ends the night kissing her on the lips, something which she does not really try to resist.

Come to think of it, the situations in which Gen has found herself either with Edward or with Leon are not really that distinct. Although they differ in time, it can be said that those moments are those in which she is really down and in dire need of someone to hold onto and assist her with her troubles that she just could not face alone. Nevertheless, it appears as though Edward is getting more points if one observes all that is happening. Everything that Edward has given Gen seems all too grand if compared to what Leon has given her. It is because of this that it is not that difficult to think how she could fall for Edward. What is puzzling, though, is thinking of whatever could be the reason for her to commit that betrayal and go back to Leon, and more than this, the consequential changes that such an act would trigger with regards to Edward as a person, who from the very start has shown them both nothing but his good side.
