Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 3/Episode 2

3.2 Dark Wings, Dark Words
Bran continues to dream about the three-eyed raven. Jojen Reed (Thomas Brodie Sangster), another seer, tells him that he couldn’t kill it because Bran himself is the raven. In Harrenhal, Robb and his mother receive bad news: that of her father’s death; and that of Rickon and Bran’s disappearance. Sansa is invited by Margaery and her grandmother, Lady Olenna (Diana Rigg) for snacks where they convince her to spill the beans about Joffrey’s true nature. She describes him as a monster. Arya and her crew make their way to Riverrun and encounter the Brotherhood without Banners, who take them somewhere to eat. Later on, another group arrives with The Hound as hostage, who immediately recognizes Arya and gives away her identity. Theon is kept prisoner in an unknown location and is tortured to confess his crimes. A boy comes to his aid and says that he is sent by his sister and that he would help him escape. Jaime manages to grab Brienne’s sword and engages her in a sword fight while still in shackles. Their duel ends abruptly as Bolton’s men finally find them.

That must have been really cathartic for Little Dove, blurting out how she hates Joffrey Bieber. She should have been more descriptive, though. “Monster” is a bit of an understatement. And I really pity her mother Lady Stark, poor woman. She tells her daughter-in-law how she prayed for her husband’s Bastard to survive when he had pox back then. She really seems to be the most motherly among mothers here. I mean, they would all go to extremes for their kids, but they have different methods. We have another newbie! Grandma Tyrell is really amusing! I mean, we have not met a lot of grandmas yet, and this one happens to be a no non-sense woman who knows how to get what she wants and is brutally honest to boot, quite different from Queen Wannabe who is really well-versed in camouflage. But we have to give it to Queen Wannabe. When Joffrey Bieber decides to interrogate her, she turns the tables on him. Nice try, dude, but this girl is of a much higher level. She would outwit you all the time.

“She dresses like a harlot for a reason. She married a traitor and known degenerate like Renly Baratheon for a reason.” –Cersei Lannister
