Folge 24: Licht und Schatten
Episode 24: Light and Shadow
2020. Today is the day of the apocalypse in Eva’s world. She readies her troops for war. Through the God Particle, she sends to the rescue of: Bartosz, the older Bartosz (Roman Knižka); Elisabeth, the old and young Noah; pregnant Hannah, Grandpa Egon. She also sends 1987 Claudia through to Adam’s world, in order for her to influence the decisions of the other 1987 Claudia there. The 3 Creepies are also sent to both worlds to trigger their respective apocalypses. Ulrich follows grandpa Helge to the cave and discovers the doors of Erit Lux. Adam has his own plan. He sends old Magnus (Wolfram Kocht) and old Franziska of his world to Eva’s to bring the current Martha from there to his world. His plan is to kill Martha’s baby with the help of the energy from the apocalypses of both worlds, and to finally cut the ties that link the two. Jonas lives thanks to Quantum Entanglement brought about by the clash of two worlds at one point in time, in which two endlessly looping paths are created.
Here comes the aneurysm. My God. My knowledge of quantum physics is pedestrian at best. What I can grasp somehow is: A specific point in time causes two paths, which are running through one another in an endless cycle. In one world (Eva’s world), Jonas dies, but he is alive in the other (Adam’s world) where: He was never taken to the other world and just continues his existence in his own world. In this case, he makes it to the bunker just in time. This is why the stranger doesn’t have any memory of the other world, because he was never there. It’s difficult to understand, but it makes sense. That is actually the loophole of this theory. What’s most interesting is perhaps the atmosphere of war between light and shadow. The episode seems as though one were watching a game of chess. One doesn’t really know who is being manipulated or who has the winning strategy. The pieces just fall into place to give us a thrilling match.
