Darna: Episode 38

38. Frame Up

#DarnaFrameUp

38. Frame Up
Regina is still annoyed with how her interview with Darna ended up. On the other hand, she tells Narda how she considers her as her own sister. Because of this, Narda is caught in a dilemma as to how to admit to her friend that she is actually Darna. This annoyance becomes the trigger for Valentina to resurface at kill two snatchers. Although terrified of Valentina, the victim thanks her nonetheless for giving him back his money. She introduces herself as Valentina. Darna and Silent Shocker face off and his schemes regarding her sabotage is brought out in the open after Brian’s careful analysis of CCTV footage where it is made clear that Darna is not the culprit. Little by little, the people begin to trust the flying woman again. Xandra volunteers to kill Brian but Borgo has other plans in using him against Darna because he knows he is one of her weaknesses. #DarnaFrameUp

As much as I don’t want to agree with the criticisms I’ve been reading online about the show, I feel like we all have similar insights. It’s not really the speed of the plot that is the problem, but rather the intensity of Darna’s enemies. Valentina only gets to show up once in a blue moon. The Extras, on the other hand, don’t leave that much of an impact. Perhaps what is fitting for them to do is introduce more Extras whose shenanigans will surely live in our minds rent free. It does not help that all Extras appearing are guys holding grudges. We want Darna to square off with another woman who won’t back down. It could’ve been Valentina, yet the two are not even given the chance to meet, which leads to us starting to get bored. Perhaps this is really one of the pitfalls of a show that is broadcasted every night. They just have to prolong the story, which is why sometimes we end up with lots of impatience to spare. #DarnaFrameUp
