She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - Episode 8

8. Ribbit and Rip It
Jen is forced to represent superhero wannabe Leap-Frog (Brandon Stanley), son of one of the firm’s wealthy clients, whose super suit crafted by fashion designer Luke Jacobson malfunctions mid-flight. She cites conflict of interest because Jacobson is her tailor but her hands are legally tied. She eventually faces off with Jacobson’s legal counsel in court, blind lawyer Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox). After the case is dismissed when her client is caught lying, She-Hulk faces off once again with Murdoch, this time as Daredevil, as he chases her client at a parking lot. The two heroes square off and Jen easily unmasks him, after which he explains that Leap-Frog is the real enemy after he kidnaps Jacobson to force him to make a new suit for him. When all the fighting is done, Jen and Matt end up sleeping together before he flies back to the East Coast. She then attends the Female Lawyer of the Year gala where she the Intelligencia leaks an incriminating video of hers during the ceremony. Furious, she smashes everything.

Straight to bed on his first appearance, hahaha. I’m not really a fan of the She-Hulk comics but seeing panels of some of her sexcapades on print makes me want to believe that this is not out of character for her at all. So why not Daredevil too, right? As for Matt Murdoch, his one-episode stint here feels like an extension of his lawyering gig in No Way Home. The fight scenes that follow serve as some sort of soft launch for his own Disney+ show. I never really got to watch his series on Netflix so I have no idea what the beef will be between his soft reboot here and the Daredevil that fans of the Netflix show recognize. All I have observed is that this version seems more aloof compared to the more serious and uptight one on Netflix based on some video clips. Whatever they do, they won’t be able to please everybody anyway. Back to She-Hulk, it looks like that was the idea of whoever the big bad is? Have her smash everything and lead public opinion to treat her as a menace and a threat like they did her cousin a decade ago? she took the bait. Too bad.

“The way I see it, Jen Walters can help people when society fails them, and She-Hulk can help people when the law fails them.” –Matt Murdock
